Itinerary in detail and some advice for travel from Jakarta to Yogyakarta

Our journey began in Jakarta where we stayed one night at MaxOneSabang (JL. KH Agus Salim, 24) near Gambir Station and at Jalan Jaksa, the road of backpackers. Very clean Hotel and very new, ideal for those who want to stop short in the capital and take the early morning train to Yogyakarta, more inviting southern town. What leaves at 8.30 from Gambir Station, station close to the hotel, is the train Taksaka, who arrives in Yogyakarta after about 7-8 hours of travel. Don't worry though for the length of the journey, because the train Taksaka is an excellent, very spacious, with reclinabilissimi seats, Café service directly to the Chair, and beautiful views along the way.

Yogyakarta is a delightful town, very different from caoticissima Jakarta. It's full of charming narrow streets, markets, and restaurants, not to mention that is located near the archaeological site of Borobudur (read full article) and Prambanan, two real treasures of Southeast Asia. To sleep in Yogyakarta, we chose the 1001 Malam, which literally means "a thousand and one nights, and we strongly recommend it. The hotel is located in a traditional javanese House, with rooms overlooking a lush garden, and the street where it is located is one of the prettiest in the city and in an area popular with travelers.

We stayed three days in Yogya, we rented a scooter and visited the area independently. Borobudur and Prambanan are both narcotic drugs and perderseli would be a crime if you are Java, whereby affittatevi half and make nice day trips to sites. Admission to both is pretty expensive, but if you have a University card, the amount is halved.

To dine in the city we recommend from the depths of the heart two splendid restaurants, vegetarian Milas (Jalan Prawirotaman, 4) and Kesuma (Jalan Sartono, 827), both located in beautiful gardens and with a sublime gastronomic offer among the best culinary experience of the whole trip.

From Yogyakarta to Bromo Volcano

From Yogyakarta can be booked in one of the many surrounding agencies Sosrowijayan moving with the van to mount Bromo (read the article), which is considered one of the most fascinating volcanoes of Java, and the next move by bus + ferry to Bali. It takes two full days, starting from Yogyakarta early in the morning, long journey towards the bromine, arrival in the evening guesthouse choice award was not in the immediate vicinity of Mount, a few hours of sleep and then wake up at 3.30 to climb on the volcano's feet 2.329. Our advice is not to join in tours that lead travellers to jeep to see the sunrise from a mountain positioned opposite the Bromine, which you will be offered several times and that most travelers eventually accepts. The real thrill is getting yourself to the volcano, and wait for the dawn of the caldera while slowly the fog that covers the desert sand dissolves. You and a few others, between sand, the smell of sulphur, and the sun slowly brightens everything.
